Your visit of Luang Prabang by tuk tuk starts with Wat Xieng Thong temple, whose ornaments, mosaics and stupas are some of the most refined, it holds a majestic Buddha lying in a purely Lao style; continue with the oldest temple in the city: Wat Visoun.Then you will visit the Wat Xieng Mouane temple and have a lunch in local restaurant.In the afternoon, you will discover the National Museum which exhibits the famous Pha Bang, a golden statue of Buddha. In late afternoon, walk around the local market with your tour-guide. Dinner at leisure. Night at the hotel.
Visit Big Brother Mouse, an opportunity to discover a village and its school who received books, to meet the children and discuss with them about their desire to learn. Departure to Kuang Si, about thirty minutes’ drive from Luang Prabang.The waterfalls are not very high but are renowned for their beauty and for their environment, part of a national park. On the way, stop at the Talat Phosy market, and visit of several ethnic minority villages : Ban Na Oune, inhabited by Hmong population ; Ban Tha Pane populated by Khmu; and Ban Na Wanand the Lao Loums... Swim in the natural pools of Kuang Si, or walk around. Picnic lunch next to the falls.Road back to Luang Prabang. Climbing Mount Phousi, stroll around the evening market where populations of mountain minorities sell their products: crafts including engraved silver objects or pushed, embroidery, silk and woven pieces.Dinner at leisure. If you desire, possibility to get up early and admire the monks getting alms before dawn : the "Tak Bat". To live, the Buddhist monk depends on the generosity of the Buddhist people, who observe this ritual respectfully. Morning drive to the village of Ban Don Ngurn. Then, embark on a cruise on the scenic Nam Ou River. You will have the opportunity to discover beautiful karst landscapes and remote villages only reachable by boat. Stop for lunch along the way.In Ban Vanglae village, where traditional weaving and dyeing are still practiced, warm encounters with the locals : the Lu tribe. Pursuit your journey with the visit of Pak Ou Caves, carved into a cliff in the middle of a lush jungle, they offer a magnificent view of the Mekong, mixing its waters with those of the Nam Ou River. Visit a rice wine distillery on the way back to Luang Prabang.Dinner at leisure. Night at hotel.
Departure to the province of Xieng Khouang and the city of Phonsavan. The road passes through beautiful mountain scenery and villages of ethnic minorities. Xieng Khouang was the victim of intense US bombing during the Vietnam War, the province is mainly populated by Laos, Khmu and Hmong ethnics.Lunch in a local restaurant.Along the way, some stops are planned to take pictures. Arrival in Phonsavan in the late afternoon. Installation at the hotel.Dinner at your expense. Night at the hotel.
After visiting the Central Market of Phonsavan, transfer to the south of the city to visit the Plain of Jars, the origin and function of this site remain unknown but several hundred sandstone jars are exposed on the ground since the 1st century BC. J-C. Lunch during the visit.Continue the exploration in the afternoon to Muang Khoun, the former capital in ruins, about 40 km from Phonsavan. Return to the hotel late afternoon.Dinner at leisure. Night at the hotel.
Road to Vang Vieng, through the most picturesque, wild and mysterious scenery of all Asia. Lunch on the road.Arrival in Vang Vieng, a small town on a bend of the Nam Song River. Dominated by an imposing limestone massif pierced with caves, it's a place covered with jungle and bushes, in an area known for its caves, waterfalls and limestone cliffs. Check-in at the hotel and boat tour on the Nam Song River.Dinner at leisure  Night in Vang Vieng.
The morning is dedicated to the visit of Tham Chang cave, the most famous of the area, then a hike to the villages of Tai Deang and Souay, populated by ethnic minorities.Lunch in a local restaurant.Afternoon at leisure. Arrival and lunch in a local restaurant.On the afternoon, visit the most remarkable monuments of the Laotian capital: Wat SisaketWat Phra Keo Ho Museum built on the model of a former royal temple, home to various Laotian and Khmer religious art; Wat That Luang, religious monument which has a great importance in Laos, residence of the supreme leader of the Lao Buddhism. Visit the Arc de Triomphe and Victory Gate before returning to the hotel.Dinner at leisure. Night at the hotel.
