There is information about Car and Coach that you need to know when traveling to Vietnam by group.

Vehicles:

In Vietnam, the maximum capacity is 44 pax per coach. All vehicles are A/C equipped.

  • Group 2-3: Car
  • Group 4-7: Minivan 16 seats
  • Group 8-12: Minibus 25 seats without hold
  • Group 13-17: Minibus 35 seats without hold
  • Group 18-35: Coach 45 seats with hold (Aero Space Hyundai 2002-2006)
  • Group 36-43: Coach 45 seats with hold (Univer Hyundai 2007-2011)

In Cambodia, the maximum capacity is 40 pax per coach. All vehicles are A/C equipped.

  • Group 2-3: Car
  • Group 4-7: Minivan 16 seats

  • Group 13-17: Minibus 35 seats without hold

VIETNAM

North Vietnam, the valley: Ha Noi – Ha Long – Ninh Binh (Hoa Lu):

+ Hanoi – Halong : 170 km. 4h to 5h by coach. Throughout the countryside, villages, towns, cities, industrial zones…

Possibility to make stops to visit: local markets and villages specialized in handicrafts.

+ Halong – Ninh Binh (Hoa Lu) : 200 km. 4h to 5h by coach. Interesting road as it goes through the countryside, with many non-touristic sites.

Possibility to make stops to visit: villages, local markets, beautiful churches, puppet shows…

The road goes through Haiphong, a harbor city and one of the biggest in Vietnam.

+ Ninh Binh (Hoa Lu) – Hanoi : 100 km. 2h30 by coach, but often difficult when hitting Hanoi because of traffic jams.

*Those three routes make a triangle, which allows us not to use the same road twice.

North of Vietnam, North-eastern Mountains, Lao Cai, Sa Pa, Dien Bien:

+ Hanoi – Lao Cai by night train: 300 km, 9h long trip (departure at 8.30 pm, estimated arrival at 5.30 am the next morning).

+ Lao Cai – Sapa: 30 km of mountain road. Takes 1h count stops for photos

+ Sapa – Dien Bien Phu: 300 km and 10h trip, throughout breathtaking landscapes, ethnic minority villages, and driving through the highest pass of Vietnam.

This last route can be realized in two times:

+ Lao Cai – Paso: 150 km of beautiful road

+ Paso – Dien Bien Phu: 150 km, slightly bumpy road going through ethnic minority villages.

+ In Dien Bien, there is the possibility to take the plane to Hanoi, a 1h flight. There are only two flights a day which means restricted availability, it is advised to make the booking as early as possible.

From North to South by road:

+ Hoa Lu – Vinh : 200 km. 4h to 5h by coach. Photo-stops, visits to local markets, and getting to know the local way of life of these areas rarely visited by tourists…

Center of Vietnam: Hoi An, Hue, Da Nang, Qui Nhon, Nha Trang:

+ Vinh – Hue with a detour by Phong Nha (visit of the cave): 410 km. 10h trip: national road RC1, mountainous roads of the Center, the historical Ho Chi Minh trail, various plantations such as pepper, manioc, hevea…, mountain villages, and the historical 17th parallel which was the border of North and South Vietnam during the war.

*To divide the trip in two there is the possibility to spend the night in Dong Hoi:

  1. Vinh – Dong Hoi with a detour by Phong Nha (visit of the cave): 220 km. 5h trip.
  2. Dong Hoi – Hue: 180 km, stop in Vinh Moc to visit the war tunnels used during the war, the historical 17th parallel which was the border of North and South Vietnam during the war.

+Hue – Hoi An passing through the pass of the Ocean Clouds: 140 km. 4h trip with interesting photos-stops.

+ Hoi An – My Son – Hoi An: 120 km go and back, can be done in half a day.

+ Hoi An – Danang airport: 30 km. 50 minutes to get there.

In case the customer wants to go to Nha Trang by road, they will be able to discover fishing villages, and ruins of the Champa civilization. Road by night to get to Quy Nhon, a seaside town:

+ Hoi An – Quy Nhon: 200 km throughout seaside villages of the Center, visit of Champa ruins.

+ Quy Nhon – Nha Trang: 200 km throughout seaside villages of the Center, visit Champa ruins, beaches, and fishing villages.

South of Vietnam : Ho Chi Minh, Phan Thiet, Vung Tau, Can Tho, Long Xuyen, Chau Doc. Get to Phnom Penh:

+ Ho Chi Minh – Can Tho : 170 km. The route can be separated in two halves in order to visit the floating market in Cai Be – Vinh Long:

  1. Ho Chi Minh – Cai Be : 120 km, 2h30 trip.
  2. Vinh Long – Cantho : 50 km, 1h30 trip.

+ Ho Chi Minh – Phan Thiet : 200 km. 5h trip, stops to visit: dragon fruit and cashew nut plantations, Poshanu temple (Hindu style), and the temple of the whale.

CAMBODIA

Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Battambang, Bangkok (Thailand):

+ Phnom Penh – Siem Reap: 314 km, 5h trip without visits. Possibility to make many stops along the way: Skun village, a temple, a Khmer village, a village specialized in stone carving.

+ Phnom Penh – Battambang: 270 km, 4h trip. Visit various villages along the way.

+ Battambang – Sieam Reap: can be done by road (2h) or by boat (4h) to discover the local way of life and the floating villages on the Tonle Sap Lake.

From Phnom Penh to get to Ho Chi Minh: 250km, 5h trip, and 1h at the border for formalities.

LAOS

North of Laos: Pakbeng, Pak Ou, Luang Prabang, Oudomxay, Luang Nam Tha:

+ Pakbeng – Pak Ou: 190km. 5h by boat to visit the Pak Ou Cave.

+ Pak Ou – Luang Prabang: 30km. 2h by boat or 45 minutes by road.

+ Luang Prabang – Oudomxay: 220km. 6h by road (really bumpy).

+ Oudomxay – Luang Nam Tha: 150km. 2h by road.

Vientiane, Vang Vieng, Luong Phrabang, Xieng Khoang, border post of Tay Trang:

+ Vientiane – Vang Vieng: 200km. 4h by road.

+ Vang Vieng – Luang Phrabang: 200km. 7h by road.

+ Luang Prabang – Xieng Khoang:

South of Laos: Pakse, Champasak, 4000 islands:

+ Vientiane – Pakse: 680km. 10h by road. Can be flown.

+ Pakse – Champasak: 45km. 1h by road to go visit the Vat Phou ruins.

+ Pakse – Don Khong: 1h30 by road and boat.

+ Don Khong – Done Khone: 45min by road and 15 min by boat towards Done Khone.
